The United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island, in partnership with the Roger Williams University School of Law and the Rhode Island Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is proud to announce its comprehensive hands-on deposition skills program to be held at the federal courthouse in Providence, Rhode Island on April 25-27, 2018. This CLE program provides participants with an opportunity to hone their deposition skills in this intensive 3-day program with federal and state judges, Roger Williams University School of Law faculty and experienced trial lawyers as faculty.

Enrollment is limited and registration will close on April 11, 2018. Detailed information about the program (including on-line registration), can be found by clicking the hyperlink below. A limited number of partial scholarships are available to lawyers of all background who require financial assistance.

May 30: PUBLIC NOTICE - Amendments to LR 16.6 - The Judges of the United States District Court have amended Local Rule 16.6 - Patent Proceedings following a period of public comment. The amended Local Rules are effective June 1, 2018. The amended rule 16.6 applies to all cases for which a scheduling order has yet to be issued as of the date of adoption. These amendments and the full Local Rules may be found on the courts website at:

September 4: Criminal Justice Act Board Announces Application Deadline for Boston CJA Panel. To apply, please download the application to your computer and save it. All responses must be typewritten. The deadline is September 28, 2018.
